Long-term monitoring system using FBG sensors In strain measurement, it is common to use electrical resistance strain gauges. However, since these gauges contain metal foil, they have certain limitations in terms of temperature, ultraviolet light, fatigue, and environmental factors, making them difficult to use in environments that require explosion-proof properties. To address these issues, IIC has jointly developed FBG sensors with Nitto Denko Corporation that can be used for measurements outdoors for up to five years.
